“The Flame that unites”. Exhibition of Olympic Torches, from Berlin 1936 to Rio de Janeiro 2016

An extraordinary temporary exhibition, in collaboration with the Italian National Olympic Committee,  awaits the guests of the MArRC in the space of place Paolo Orsi. 
"The Flame that unites. The Olympic Torches, from Berlin 1936 to Rio de Janeiro 2016" will be inaugurated 
on Wednesday November 21st, at 12 am, in the presence of: the director of the Museum Carmelo Malacrino, the president of CONI Giovanni Malagò 
and the president of the Regional Committee of CONI Calabria Maurizio Condipodero. It will remain open to the public until Sunday December 9th,  2018.

In the morning on the opening days, from Tuesday to Sunday, it will be possible for the schools to book a guided tour by the students 
of the "Alessandro Volta" High School of Reggio Calabria, at the following times: 10.00 am, 10.40 am, 11.20 am, calling the number mobile phone: 320.7176148.

The exhibition recounts a journey that lasted over eighty years, since the "five-circle magic flame" designed by Carl Diem and Walter Lemcke 
was lit in Olympia, in Greece, in 1936, July 20th, up to the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, in 2016.

The Olympic torch is a symbol of universal values of solidarity even in competition, of commitment to achieve a goal, of beauty and of harmony, 
that sport has been carrying since ancient times.
